Is a rolling distribution hard on an ssd?

I am just wondering if a rolling distribution is hard on an ssd?

I have 2 drives in my laptop. One is a 60GB M-sata that I use for /, the other is a 512GB Sata I use for swap and home.

Is it bad to have many writes like a rolling release would?

Just wondering.

Thanks for any reply.

Maybe you have a wrong impression about rolling releases. They don't mean that everything is permanently on the move; rather, it means that the distro doesn't have a specific versioning, but instead keeps all components continuously up to date, while non-rolling distros try to pin the core components of their release to a certain major version, even though a newer version may already be available. Yet they provide updates to most packages, too. Didn't you notice the updates coming every few days?

If your 'SSD' utilize a modern controller with new technology(MLC/SLC) and are configured properly then I see no reason to worry about an issue with a rolling release or for that matter any distribution that performs R/W to the 'SSD'.

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!
