irq 16: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option) error on booting screen


I have a storage server with Highpoint Rocket Raid card with 16 *2 TB drives connected on the system. I installed Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit server edition. My machine is very slow data transfer speed after getting the following error . i checked the dmesg i got the following error. I don't know what is the meaning of the following error?. if any body knows please help me.

For the cpu, activating an IRQ is sending a Wake up call to a specific device.

The 'irq polled, nobody cared' error means that the cpu wanted to talk out to the disk or something, and nothing answered

"Hello There YOU!" . . . . Silence.

cat /proc/interrupts, see what has irq 16 and go figure.
