iRiver U10 - can it work in linux?

Has anyone tried the iRiver u10 in linux?

It says it's only Windows compaitible...but it looks cool...and it plays ogg files.

ogg files and no linux support???

I have an iRiver H340 - I just mount it like any other USB file system. It has a 40GB drive formatted as vfat that I can copy files to or from no problems at all. I'd be surprised if theu10 was any differnet. Although, if your player has a database for searching by artist, genre, etc. it won't be updated by accessing it from Linux but that hasn't stopped me having music whenever I want it...

Cheers gilead,

I just found this thread:
misticriver.net/archive/index.php/t-29066.html
and seems there are others having dramas with T & U series.

I think i'll wait till I hear some success stories with the u10.

I had a look through that thread - and I see your point.

It's a pity because Linux was the reason I went to the ogg format for my music. It was the ogg format that got me to choose iRiver.
