IrDA disaster

Hello
I have some noname USB IrDA adapter with MosChip 7784 chip. I've seen some drivers for 7780, but not for this one.. I've loaded some modules, but irdadump doesn't find my device, i'm quite desperate :/ I'm using Ubuntu 5,10 on an old laptop (533HMz 128MB RAM).

Oh, and another question - which descent (as much as possible...) distribution would run well on that old machine? Ubuntu 6,06 is too heavy for 128MB ram and earlier versions have some bugs

Try Xubuntu, Damn Small Linux, or a bare bones Debian install that you can build from the ground up.
