IR Remote?

I'm looking for an infra-red remote that will work in linux and with mithTV. In windows I use SnapStream Firefly PCRemote, but as far as I have gathered it's not supported under Linux. I don't have much technological knowledge concerning Linux, so I'm also looking for an easy solution but will go for whatever seems to be the best. This is the only area, besides gaming, where I still use windows over linux. I would love to get something working so any help would be great. Thanks.
