ipod problem
hello,
I have an apple ipod, 30 gigs, and it was working fine with linux unitl very recently. Recently, it just randomly decided to lock privilages or something. Before, i had the mount point (/mnt/ipod) chowned to my username and accessible to all, as was all the data on the ipod. However, now when i mount it, i only can read it as root. Now, this wouldn't be a problem, as root seems to have some level of write privilages (can make/delete directories and whatnot), however, whenever i try to chown or chmod the files to be readable by normal users, i get chown: changing ownership of `ipod': Operation not permitted (the command being chown -R fibbi /mnt/ipod).
Odly enough, it works just fine on OSX and winxp, since i guess those OSes don't respect permissions quite as much.
I tried updating the firmware, using iand i recently just tried a whole restore on the ipod, with no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-fibbi
