iPod Photo on Linux (Please help, possible Guru?)
I just did a fresh install of Mandrake 10.1 the other day (Kernel 2.6.8.1-12mdk). Everything went smoothly, except when I went to plug in the iPod. I plugged in via FireWire (40 GB Photo Model), and it saw the device "Apple iPod" as /dev/sde. I tried the command "mount -t vfat /dev/sde /mnt/ipod" (it is FAT32), but it said it couldn't read superblock or something like that. The same thing happens when I plug it in with USB. I haven't re-compiled the kernel, and don't want to unless I have to. I also don't have the kernel source installed yet, but I can put that on if necessary.
So, my question is. how can I get it to work? Remember, I'm a NOOB, so take it step by step. |

Nope, no help. I even re-compiled my kernel, and it still doesn't work.
Has anyone gotten a new 4G iPod working under linux? |
I suppose you have the firewire/usb modules loaded.....otherwise you won't be able to mount it.
Googling a little bit.... Code:
