Ipod/Nano and 2.6.17 Kernal - unable to mount

Hello,

Any help here would be appreciated. Trying to mount my Ipod/Nano under the 2.6.17 kernel connected to my usb port but not having any luck.
I cannot find the Ipod/Nano device anywhere under /dev and I do not have a /dev/uba block device...any ideas?
Dmesg finds the nano, as does /proc/bus/usb...see below.

Thanks in advance

The device should be, afaik, /dev/uba1 (or some other number than 1); my iPod (though Shuffle) was /dev/sda1 since it's basically a flash memory, but it seems indeed that yours is ubaN where N is some number. So, if you do
Code:
ls /dev/uba*
you get nothing?

That is correct, no /dev/uba* but I do have /dev/usb/ followed by ez*, lp*, hiddev*, mouse*, and scanner* but neither work (ex. /dev/usb/lp1).
Do I need to create the block device inside /dev ?

Thx
