Ipod Mini Mount Problem Suse

Ok, I've read alot in linuxquestions.org, but I can't find a complete answer to my problem. I'm having problems mounting my ipod mini using usb. Here's my dmesg

nitializing USB Mass Storage driver...
usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage

I have the following modules loaded:

usbcore 58668 1 [usb-storage usbserial usb-uhci ehci-hcd]
raw1394 16592 0 (unused)
ohci1394 23728 0 (unused)
ieee1394 183364 0 [raw1394 ohci1394]
af_packet 12200 1 (autoclean)
bcm5700 76676 1
ide-scsi 10000 1
ide-cd 29664 0
cdrom 26752 0 [sr_mod ide-cd]
reiserfs 199636 1
ataraid 6756 0 (unused)
sd_mod 12288 0
scsi_mod 97524 6 [usb-storage st sr_mod sg ide-scsi sd_mod]

Of these I seen from other forums that I need:
sd_mod
ieee1394
raw1394
sbp2

I don't have sbp2, so I insmod sbp2.

However, I still can't mount the ipod. I've tried the following commands:

mount -t vfat /dev/sda /mnt/ipod and I get:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda,
or too many mounted file systems

I know that ipods create two partitions so I also did

mount -t vfat /dev/sda2 /mnt/ipod and I get:

mount: /dev/sda2 is not a valid block device

Based on the dmesg above, I don't think that linux is recognizing the ipod's drive correctly. I did format the ipod using my windows at work and it works with no issues. maybe I don't have all the modules I need? Does anyone know what I should do?

also, I thought windows formatted the drive as fat32 but my mount command said:

mount: fs type fat32 not supported by kernel
