iPod & udev

When i attach my iPod Nano it gets nicely mounted at /media/usb-0020000... or something. i read an article elsewhere on using the udev rules to specify a device name and mount point. Here's the line i put in /etc/udev/rules.d/10-ipod.rules:

BUS=="usb", SYSFS{serial}=="000A2700127A2B47", SYSFS{idVendor}="05ac" , SYSFS{product}=="iPod", NAME{all_partitions}=="ipod"
However, with this in place the device doesn't get mounted anywhere. It claims there's no /dev/sda and no /dev/ipod nor is there anything created in /media.

What am i doing wrong?

I don't know anything about udev rules... but:
If your iPod is getting mounted, then that's all you need in order to be able to write/read from it.

From linux's point of view, an iPod is just a mass USB storage device.
So my question for you is why bother creating a special device node if it's already being mounted properly?

It's purely a learning matter. i've had problems in the past where USB devices weren't recognised and weren't getting mounted. At the time i didn't know how to resolve it; now this would appear to be the way.

Obviously something is happening to mount this (seemingly the default udev rules) but i don't know what. But i'd like to.
