Unhappy iPhilips devices compatible with RedHat 7.2?

I am seriously thinking about shifting permanently to Linux but I have several peripherals that bug me:

- a cd-writer: CDRW1610A Philips
- a sound card: PSC705 Philips

are these compatible to my Linux?
does anybody know people building drivers for these?
if they are compatible how do I install the drivers?

Thanks in advance
