Angry Invalid hard drive!?

I'm installing Mandriva 2005 LE, and everything runs smoothly - up to a certain point. I pick my language, agree to the Terms of Use, and then I get an error.

"An error occured - no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems."

My drive is a SATA Seagate 7200.7 80GB on a Chaintech VNF3-250 motherboard. I just installed Windows XP on it and it went fine, and I made a 70GB partition for Windows and I left 10GB unformatted so I could install Linux. I'm quite the Linux n00b - any suggestions on what I should do?

There should be a way to either run an advance/expert install or to manually load modules(driver). Not sure the exact process on Mandriva? But the module you are looking for is "sata_nv".
Then it should see the hard drive. Sorry couldn't be more precise but it has been a long time since I messed with Mandrake...now Mandriva.

I have the same problem trying to install Fedora Core 5... the strange thing is that if I try to install FC4 (the previous distro) there are no problems... boh... If I find a solution I'll let you know.
