The floppy connector (30 pins) is different than the IDE connector (40 pins) that is used on your ZIP drive. Its like asking can I place a AGP card in a PCI slot, so this isn't possible. You could get a USB box to convert your ZIP to a USB ZIP drive. Though make sure the USB box works with LINUX.

The A: and B: is given for the 3.5 or the 5.25 floppy disk drives. The subsitute command in DOS only does the A: and B: drives.
