Internal Zip 250 on the ...


See the reason why i want to ask was that i had a dvd-rw, a cd-rw, two ide hard drive full fill my 4 ide port and i don't want to have a usb zip drive.
So i want to ask 'Can i use a floppy cable with 3 connector to connect both my floppy drive and my internal zip 250 drive?
Is it passible?

Nope, the floppy interface is different than the IDE. You could get an additional PCI IDE interface card.

I don't understand your question. You can use a zip drive like any other removable media device. You can assign it the drive letter B and even use it as a boot device if your motherboard BIOS has that capability.

But you will still need another IDE PCI controller card for your zip drive. unless you switch to a USB device.

The floppy connector (30 pins) is different than the IDE connector (40 pins) that is used on your ZIP drive. Its like asking can I place a AGP card in a PCI slot, so this isn't possible. You could get a USB box to convert your ZIP to a USB ZIP drive. Though make sure the USB box works with LINUX.

I don't know if their devices work in LINUX.

The A: and B: is given for the 3.5 or the 5.25 floppy disk drives. The subsitute command in DOS only does the A: and B: drives.
