Internal Hsf Connexant Modem Too Slow On Linux

I am using connexant intenal modem on linux with full 56KBPS functionality, but still i feel that the modem is working at a very less speed.

How can i test my modem speed,

and how can i improve my modem speed

You could use the test on to test your connection speed.

A 56k modem will typically download files at 4-5 kB/sec. What kind of rates are you getting?
