Hello all thanks for allowing me post. I'm a newbie to linux. I have a system that is currently running windows. it has a 4 gig internal Ida drive and a $ gig SCSI drive and then i have 3 external SCSI drives. when i run windows on this machine it sees all the drives. but when i go to set up linux-mandrake 10 it only shows the internal hard drive "c" and the internal SCSI Drive they are listed as hda and sda "i think". Can anyone tell me why it would not be seeing the other drives and what i need to do in order for it to. I hope to set this up as a file server.

HDA = equals master IDE drive
SDA = equals scsi drive

Do a 'df' and 'cfdisk' at the command line and post the output here. We may can help you better. It may be seeing all of your drives and you (being new to linux) may not know how to recognize them.
