intern modem-card


hi

i have got vectorlinux soho 5.1.1. with kde 3.4.2 running

i am about to install a intern modemcard(analog) (devolo...microlink 56k pci)

this is a full compatible modemcard (no winmodem)

do i have to install a module extra..and how will i do this??

i am a newbie...sorry

any ideas

What linux distribution (e.g. Mandrake, Red Hat, Fedora, Slackware, Ubuntu, etc.) do you have?

your modem should be reported as a serial port (/dev/ttySx)... install kppp if you can... and run it, configure your modem and connection (try different serial ports, and see if it work)...

Please type "lspci -vv" (without the "s) at a terminal prompt and post the output here.

its fixed..thanks

i got a rpm-module from suse and switched it into an tgz-file

afterwards the system reconniced my card

nevertheless thanks for your efforts
