Intellimouse Explorer woes...

Hello all.

I've got a strange problem with my mouse that I do not know how to fix, so any help or suggestions on where to look next would be greatly appreciated. So, on to the problem:

I have a MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 installed (USB) on a Slackware 9.1 machine. If I set it to PS/2 in XF86Config, it works, but no wheel or side buttons... this I expect. As soon as I change it to either 'IMPS/2' or 'ExplorerPS/2' it goes nuts after X starts up. By going nuts, no matter where I move the mouse to, it instantly moves to the lower left hand corner of the screen and randomly acts like I'm right clicking on things. Changing it back to 'Auto' or 'PS/2' fixes the problem. The only real odd thing that I noticed after installing it is, linux says it's connected to /dev/psaux instead of /dev/mouse.

Anyone have any clues?

Thanks in advance,
Randy
