IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0A

Hello,
I am trying to get the two side buttons on my mouse to work. I want them to do the forward and back operations in a web browser. I am able to do this in Mandrake 9.1, but now I installed Mandrake 10.0 and I can't get it to work again. I've looked at all of the settings I can think of in 9.1, and used them in 10.0, but it still won't work. I'm probably just forgetting something, but I set up the mouse in 9.1 a long time ago and all that I can remember is that I had a hard time with it then. If someone could give me some complete step by step instructions to set up the mouse that would be great. By the way, I have the moust hooked up with the USB connector. I don't think this should be a problem since this is how I have it set up in 9.1.

Thanks a lot!
Tom

Have you tried looking in your XF86Config?

Thats where all mouse related settings are placed. Use xev to find out the button names, and then assign them mappings in your XF86Config.

I finally figured out the problem. I needed to have the "(null)" part in my .imwheelrc file. In Mandrake 9.2 it worked just fine without it. My .imwheelrc file now looks like:

".*"
None, Up, Alt_L|Left
None, Down, Alt_L|Right

"(null)"
None, Up, Alt_L|Left
None, Down, Alt_L|Right
