intel915gv graphics

my mobo uses intel 915gv onboard chipset, and the graphics on here aren't doing so hot, a few screensavers are running all slow and crappy like, i went to the intel site to get the driver and it only has one for 2.4.x kernel, so will i have to wait until the configure it for 2.6.x and will that make such small things as a screensaver run more smooth. and where can i go to see like the graphic configuration under ubuntu?
