Intel537 installing problem on kernel 2.6

I'm trying to install the driver for this modem (Ambient Md3200) on
my MDK10 distro but when I type 'make install' (after 'make clean' & 'make 537_26)' it gives me this:

Code:
bash 537_inst
running kernel 2.6.3-7mdk
installing hamregistry, used for persistant storage
installing usrsound, a soft buzzer
installing ham module
mandrake 537_boot script
starting module and utilities
error loading Intel537
ERROR: Module Intel537 does not exist in /proc/modules
done
/proc/modules can't be edited so I don't know how to put this module
into it.

and if I try 'modprobe Intel537' the result is:

Code:
FATAL: Error inserting Intel537 (/lib/modules/2.6.3-7mdk/kernel/drivers/char/Intel537.ko): Invalid module format

I have edited the makefile but perhaps this is not enough, if someone
knows the solution of this problem please help me.

Hey saz, wait a bit after you click "post", you accedentally posted twice there.

AFAIK nobody can resolve this. It is a problem with the Intel driver source. Complaining to Intel dosn't work either.

See: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...5&pagenumber=1

The same trouble exists with the 536ep modem too.

The only consistent solution is to trash the modem and go hardware.
