Question intel pro100 ve version b? drivers

i have a new compaq pc , dx2000, which has an intel pro100 ve nic built in to the m/board.
i cannot find any drivers for it.
i have tried all the normal pro100 ve drivers and the will not work.
it appears to be a version "b" model.

does anyone have any ideas or experience of this card?

any help would be much appreciated.

regards

BoX

ok, i should be a little clearer.

i am using a zen 4 boot disc that uses 2.4.18 kernel to gain access to the server.

the problem is that novell(who produce zen) cannot keep up with all the linux drivers needed for new hardware.

the return of the command /sbin/lspci -v
is no such file or directory.

the drivers are normally added to the kernel or to the directory
/lib/modules/2.4.11/kernel/drivers/net

and info is put in /bin/driver.conf to get the kernel to use the correct driver.

using a live cd distro i get

01.08.0 ethernet controller : intel corp : unknown device 1050 (rev2)
subsystem : gvc/bcm advanced research : unknown device 2181
flags: bus master , medium devsel latency 32 irq 20
memory fe5fe (32bit non-prefetchable) [size=4k]
io ports at bc00 [size=64]

and i can get on the net with this distro (N-iX)

so there are drivers that work!!
??

using the liv cd what does lsmod return after you are online..i.e. while the card is working? that should shed some light on the driver we are looking for.

it was not the driver after all, it was the switch!
i dont know why yet as the guy in charge has not looked, but when i changed to a new port i worked .. and discovered i was on a different switch.
