Intel PRO/wireless 4965 ANG wireless card on hpdv9500 not working(off and on)

I have an hpdv9500t laptop, and am dual booting it with sabayon linux and windows vista. i had been using vista for a few months, and today decided to use sabayon instead. my intel ipw4965 PRO/wireless card had been working fine in sabayon last time i had logged on, however, today, when i chose to connect to my home wireless, it "saw" it, had the name and signal strength, but when it connected, the signal was weaker than normal, and in about 2mins, it lost the connection, and after that, it gets to about 28% and just quits, and tells me "connection faliure" it works fine with a wired connection.
