Intel ICH southbridge RAID mode - any way to see disks ?

Hi,

Intel ICH9R, ICH8R,.. can operate in three different modes - PATA, ACHI, RAID. I know that not all distributions are compatible with newer chipsets like p35.

1. Is it possible to configure linux to see sata disks from Intel ICH(ICH9R, ICH8R,.. ) southbridge witch operates in RAID mode ? (I'm not talking about general p35 compatibility) I have few windows installations in RAID mode and changing it will break those installations.

2. What is most compatible ICH mode for linux - PATA, ACHI, RAID ?

thanks
Vilius

If you want to see a motherboard array, then you will need to load the "dmraid" package.
