Angry INTEL I865 Chipset Onboard sound

I tried to install the intel8x0 alsa project driver but i can't open the volume control. (can't open dev/mixer)
Got some error replies trying the modprobe commands after install.
Help someone?
Intel Only supports with package and install directions. What happens when shit happens during install?
Please help

Hi,

What mobo do you have?
Do you know of anyone else with the same mobo and does they too have the problem?

what is your distro and what do you see when you do a lspci?
