Intel HaM Dial-Up Modem, Redhat 8.0, Unable to connect
I am Still a noob
I have a redhat 8.0 and i need the internet. i have an Intel Ham modem but my system cannot find it. it is an internal dial-up modem, i have tryed all the "ttys"s but it just cant find it. so i have to crank up my (shameful sigh) windows system every time i need to access the net, what a pain. Please help me so i can be rid of this windows curse. Thanx, ATrx2k |

http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/files/listmodem_app.zip which was window utility which could identity your modem type. then i could have an idea what modem are you using. also, please post the output of "lspci" for further information on your hardware. |

I used the listmodem program, it posts "Intel HaM 4472 Data Fax Voice"
when i run lspci i get "Ambient Technologies unknown device 4000" ATrx2k |

The driver joe47 siad works!
The modem initializes and dials and thats all it does. In kppp it gets to the bit where it says "Logging on to network" after that i just get a timeout. why is this and how can i solve it. |

I am sorry, I think I may have the same modem. I have never been able to get beyond the logging on to my ISP. I have trouble veiwing web sites. Sorry Joe |
