Intel HaM Dial-Up Modem, Redhat 8.0, Unable to connect

I am Still a noob

I have a redhat 8.0 and i need the internet. i have an Intel Ham modem
but my system cannot find it. it is an internal dial-up modem, i have tryed all the "ttys"s but it just cant find it. so i have to crank up my (shameful sigh) windows system every time i need to access the net, what a pain.

Please help me so i can be rid of this windows curse.

go download
http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/files/listmodem_app.zip
which was window utility which could identity your modem type.
then i could have an idea what modem are you using.
also, please post the output of "lspci" for further information on your hardware.

The driver joe47 siad works!
The modem initializes and dials and thats all it does. In kppp it gets to the bit where it says "Logging on to network" after that i just get a timeout. why is this and how can i solve it.
