I work for a company that has always been a Windows house. We've done Linux work, but not much. I'm running CentOS 4.5 with kernel 2.6.9-55.EL-i686. I've gotten all the onboard hardware to work without a problem but I cannot get the video to work properly. Linux finds it as a default graphics card and default monitor. This computer uses an Intel 965 express graphics processor. The chipset is detected, but the graphics aren't. I have no idea where to find or how to install drivers. Can someone please help?
I guess I read more into your post than I should have. Are you unable to get a GUI or are you really having a problem with the Intel driver? What happens when you run startx?
Thanks for helping. I can get into a GUI, but it won't let me change higher than 800X600 and only shows a generic VESA card for the video card and a generic monitor. I can't change either one.
Everything else in the system works fine except this.
