Intel 915/925?

Is it the 2.6 kernel compatible with the Intel 915 and 925 chipsets?

Yes, as of 2.6.7 (I believe). I know that 2.6.11 has it in there.

Thanks Eric - I have been contemplating an upgrade, and did not want to buy into something that would inhibit my Linux OS's. I'm considering an Albatron P4 motherboard with an Intel 925 chipset (on board LAN and Sound).

Cheers

I'm using an Intel D915BPL motherboard with Fedora Core 3 and have had no problems with the combination, perhaps excluding that I didn't bother getting onboard sound working and instead took a Creative SoundBlaster PCI Digital fom my old system. Onboard networking seems to be supported but I do not have a LAN setup nor cable/boradband internet so I cannot confirm.

Thanks PhilDEE

It's good to get some feedback before committing. The last thing anyone would want is to fork out $many to get something that was incombatible!!

Cheers

yes it is, SUSE (kernel 2.6) installs it without any problem and the widescreen works right off the box.
Now, does anybody know where in DEBIAN is a utility for changing this? The resoultion in my watch is higer than what debian gives now. Debian installation is truly a frustrating experience, can someone please help me... so I can at least see the screen!
