Intel 865PERL mboard ethernet driver
I'm installing Red Hat 8.0 on an Intel 865PERL motherboard, and the ethernet device is not found.
I've re-installed with a live ethernet cable plugged in, but the network configuration window does not appear during install, as if the on-board 10/100 enet was not found.
Doing an ifconfig le0 produces the message device not found.
Is this a known issue? Has anyone installed Red Hat 8.0 on this motherboard, and if so, did the enet work?
The Intel web site has a Linux LAN Adapters PROCfg application, which I have downloaded, but it has 10 pages of stuff on installing a client/server application - I don't get it. Any help greatly appreciated.
As a side issue, Red Hat 8.0 did not find the SATA disk, either, until I went into the bios and selected [legacy] instead of [enhanced] for the ATA devices.
