Intel 536 dailing but not connecting

i have recently installed FC2 on my PC (so i am new to it) and downloaded the driver for intel 536. it installed correctly to my knowledge then i configured it to dial my isp. but when the window pops up after the activation the modem dials, connects and after some time the connection drops. i can't seem to understand where the problem is. any suggestions....??

You might have a CHAP / PAP authentication problem.

If you want, send me a mail at rylan<removethispart>@polard.com and I'll send you a howto by Bill Unruh (its quite a few pages) that is very detailed and will explain exactly how to connect to your ISP. I followed this howto letter by letter and it worked perfectly for getting my external modem working in Rh9 and connecting to my ISP.
