Integrated Sound Card not working

Hello every one. Im running Fedora Core 5 and the sound doesn't quite work

According to me i've got Realtek ALC 883 sound card and Fedora thinks that it is Realtek ALC 882 insted of 883.
The sound doesn't work properly, when ever I try to play a song or any kind of sound it plays the first sencond of the sound and then it echos the sound until Fedora crashes and I have to restart.

Does anybody know how can I soleve this problem.?

Any help would be cool

There's a configuration utility called "alsaconf" - which will detect and set up your soundcard. I don't know if this utility already is installed in FC5. Test it out by: 1) Open a console window 2) login as root-user (with command "su" ) 3) Try starting alsaconf by: /sbin/alsaconf

If this doesen't work, you might want to get the latest ALSA-drivers - and - ALSA-utils.
