Installing to Intel L440GX+

Has anyone been able to install a recent Linux distro to an Intel L440GX+ dual Pentium II motherboard?

I am getting lots of checksum errors when installing from CD or hard disk, but I've MD5 checksummed my images and they're seemingly OK. My biggest problem is in getting past the first steps of installation, although linux noscsi seems to avoid the black screen of death problem I was experiencing.

I don't think the newer distros are going to be able to support this mobo, but I hope I'm wrong?
