Not sure if this may be of help, I have a proliant 1850R and the followings installed successfully:
-Fedora 5 and 6
-Solaris 10
-NT 4 and Windows 2000 Server
-Beos 5.1
-Redhat 9
-Turbo Cluster 4
Most likelly any fedora install would run fine. Could never get the network to run on beos.
On slackware, suse and debian, had scsi issues, so I just passed, but I may try again in the future.
