I'm trying to install a Samsung SCX-3400 printer connected via USB to a Lenovo Thinkpad. I've used a ppd file from the installation CD, then a rastertospl file it was asking for, but now I keep getting the error message that this rastertospl file is insecure, i.e. the permissions are not right. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I've tried changing permissions in the /usr/cups/filter/ directory with sudo chmod 755 in a terminal and changing the group to root, but no good. I've already installed this very same driver, since the package works with this printer, but as I tried to communicate, it doesn't seem to be a driver problem, it's just a problem of permissions. However, I haven't been successful in changing the permissions in any of the usual ways with which I am familiar.
And if I remember correctly, this distro is independent, built from scratch, and not based on anything else.

Check
and make sure the file is root-owned...

Change to user and group ownership to root like this...
