I have a big question here.

I am trying to install RH9 on a Super Micro 5013-T server. The only hard drive we have is an 80GB HDD that is on the SATA controller. The problem is that the RH9 install cannot see the SATA hdd, and as such won't let me install as it thinks it does not have a hard drive.

It looks as though the sata chip set is an Intel 875P controller.

If anybody knows where I can find some generic SATA controller drivers, or even drivers for that exact controller can they please send me a link to it? I tried the manufacturer's website and they only supply .rpm files, which are not much good to me as they can only be done after install.

Also if anybody has any tips or pointers that would be welcome as well.

The libata drivers in the current Linux kernel supports the ICH5 SATA controller, which most likely is what your system is using. Installing an antiquated distribution will only mean more work for you no matter how you look at it so I suggest you have a look at some more recent distributions - Fedora Core 2 is more updated and might be a good choice for you if you are Redhat people (but don't want to shell out the cash for Redhat Enterprise versions).
