installing rh7.2 alpha on mylex dac960
I have been having a lot of problems when attempting to install Red Hat 7.2 alpha on a digital server 3000 with a dac 960 raid card. During my installation when I am at the partition section whether I select automatic or manual I always receive the error "No valid devices were found on which to create new filesystems." then the system reboots. When contacting red hat they tell me that I have unsupported hardware but it seems as though people have been able to install on the dac 960. I would appreciate any ideas anyone might have and can give more information if I am not being specific enough. Please keep in mind I am fairly new to the linux world so you might have to talk slowly! Thanks

Mylex DAC960
I have exactly the same problem with a with me test PC, Red Hat 8.0 just doesn't see any logicals drives in the RAID, whereas Windows installs to them with no problems!
Does anyone have a solution for this? Is it just a problem with the inbuilt Red Hat Mylex drivers? |
You need to have your IDE-0 and IDE-1 controler occupied by your HD based uppon the (C) code:
if(ide0==NULL && ide1==NULL) Printf("No valid devices were found ect....\n"); return 0; Regards Concord |
