Installing RedHat (or any linux version) fails
I am trying to install RH8.0 but I can't start the installation.
It gives me the following error, but since I am not allowed to post an URL yet, error message is at the url below... Installing it with VMware by the way. home.planet.nl/~derks967/error.JPG Extra information: System specs AMD Duron 1.0 GHz Asus A7A266 mainboard 512 MB DDR PC2100 (Dane-Elec) GF4 Ti4200s 128MB DDR HD1 - Maxtor 40 GB 7200 RPM HD2 - Fujitsu 8 GB 5400 RPM CD-ROM (don't know make) CD-RW Lite-on 48x48x8 I have already read in several messages that there is some kind of an issue with Duron processors and Linux. Is there any way to fix my problem? Please, please, please help. |
Duron's problems are with memory usage and AGP and shouldn't affect installation. See AMD's official position: this is not a CPU bug
What is your source of CD? Did you download and burn the CDs? Was the download good?
