Installing Linux on New Apple Macbook

Hi, I just purchased an Apple Macbook, and am having a great time learning its operating system. I have, however, toiled away twice previously with trying to install, and run a linux distribution. I am not very good at cutting code, but will learn what it takes to not have it beat me again. Does anyone have a distribution of linux on a macbook, and what is the best distribution for a linux "noob" like me?

Thanks

If you are a Linux n00b, I actually warmly suggest that you keep OS X in that Macbook for a while and learn by using its command line which is a modern Unix one. After that, you know the main ropes in Linux as well. After I had used a Mac for 2 years exclusively with OS X, my Linux skills had magically improved in that time as well since I could actually concentrate solely on using CLI for productivity improvement reasons (I learned usage of vim, gcc, make & gdb in that period very well), not just constant trouble-shooting which gets frustrating.

Just my 2c and I'm sure some HC-Linux users will not accept what I'm saying.
