Question Installing Linux on drive @ promise 376 controller

Greetings,

I did a search in this forum for problems with promise controllers and there seems to be quite a few. I did not see any solution to get the promise fasttrack 376 (pdc20376) to work though.

I have an ASUS A7V8X with that controller built-in and my harddrives are on it. What can I do to be able to install on the hds?

Someone mentioned that the 2.24.21 kernel might support the controller, how can I install fxp Mandrake 9.1 but with this newer kernel instead of the one on the cds?

Any suggestions appreciated!
