Installing Linux [Minimal]

I was thinking of setting up Linux as another operating system of a PC Clone say a Pentium 166MMX with 2.1 GB of hard drive and 32MB of RAM. I want to install it the same way on installing
Windows 3.11 using floppies since not all units have CD-ROM drives but the units are wired to a network and I was wondering if it is possible to install 12 units with Linux using one unit with the installation CD of Linux? If not then floppies is the next thing. Is there anyone who can give me detailed guide in doing either approach? A website maybe or documentation perhaps? I tried looking at HOW-TOs but it doesn't seem to explain the installation in detail. And how much hard drive space must I allocate? I intend to install a desktop environment of either KDE or GNOME, a browser like Mozilla, a Webserver of Apache, a compiler of PHP, a database of MYSQL, and a text editor like ANJUTA. Will 300 MB to 500 MB be enough? What version of Red Hat will sufficient for such task?
I have already tried installing Linux on high units before say PII or PIII with a hard drive of 4-10GB.
But I am required to install it on lower one. Anyone out there that can help?

You should be able to do a network install. I am not sure where an easy to read how-to is, though. Most distros have a how-to on their website.
