Installing Lexmark Z705 Printer in Mandrake Linux Powerpack 10.1

Hello Everyone. Apperantly my Printer isn't listed in my Printer Database.

Actually, there is an odd naming scheme for listing Lexmark Printers.

My Printer is a Z705, and the closest thing that comes by is Z11 (I think).

Does anyone know where I can find the driver for my printer so I can install and use it?

I have absolutely no experience with CUPS and anything dealing with printers, I just need it to work before school Starts

Unfortunately, Lexmark isn't the greatest when it comes to printer support for Linux. You could try their driver for the Z600 series, but I'm not sure how well it will work for your printer:

I did have a nice HP deskjet that serve me for many years, but the quality was wearing out badly so I replaced it with a lexmark... I do have a Hp deskjet but it's for photo-quality pictures and the cartridges are the size of Legos Bricks. That will DEFINATELY not do for when I get back to school... Honestly I have two alternatives

1. I still have yet ANOTHER Lexmark Printer in my closest- brand new... but this one is a Z715, which I believe would map on to the Z15 in my printer database. I could use a new printer and store this (rather new) printer awa

2. If 1. doesn't work, then I'll have to switch my Windows nd Linux Comps again. I switched and made my Linbox my main PC hoping that I could do printing and that I could finish LFS before school starts. If I can't do either than it's time to go back.

I dunno, i'll have to think about it. A look at www.linuxprinting.org doesn't make Lexmark look very promising..
