I have installed Ver 9.0 but it is not recognizing my onboard SIS 900 Ethernet card, If I install new card PCI slot then it setups both the card on eth0, eth1 but gives same ip add to both interfaces. If I remove added LAN card then again it says adding LAN failed.
I have looked at your other posts, also, and you need to supply more information so that people can help you.
(1) Which distribution of Linux are you using? Did you install Slackware 9.0, RedHat 9.0, Mandrake 9.0, SuSE 9.0, etc. Which one of these have you installed?
(2) Where have you disabled the onboard NIC? You said in your first post "BIOS on board Ethenet is enabled." Have you disabled it in the BIOS since then? You will also need to remove that support from your kernel, but we must know the distribution to tell you where and how that can be done.
(3) Which NIC are you using to connect with in WinXP? Please give the manufacturer and model of your NIC.
2. Onboard NIC disabled from BIOS which is SIS 900 NIC (not removed from kernel since I dont know)
3. I have installed one Accton EN1207D-TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter on WIN XP client machine and another same NIC on LINUX SERVER machine
4. Please let me know where can I get intel 845 chipset mother board driver since I want to change to GUI mode of LINUX and which modifcations I have to do in inittab file for GUI mode
Linux auto detected ACCTON PCI LAN card, Actually Linux was not detecting my onboard LAN, after disabling on bord I installed PCI LAN card it detectd it auomatically and is working fine, Any way if u need more help then please give me step by how did u installed / attached new LAN card
