installing GeForce 3 ti200 on Redhat 7.3
Hi everyone,
I have looked around this site to try to find an answer to my problem, but it seems that I have done everything mentioned and still can't get the drivers to work. Any advice or suggestions would be very helpful for this recent linux convert!! Here is my hardware: Athlon XP 1600 Geforce 3 ti 200 (agp) Software: Redhat 7.3 (fresh install) (with KDE running) Quake 3 NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2960.i386.rpm NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.rh73up.athlon.rpm I have installed them rpm's according to Nvidia's directions and modified the XF86Config-4 file as instructed. When I restart xwindows the nvidia logo doesn't come up and I can tell that it isn't openGL accelerated with a few of the screensavers that use openGL. Have even run the shell script from Nvidia to confirm that I have downloaded the correct files and another script (named nv_check.sh) to check that everything is installed ok. Both come out fine. Have tried this a few times and double checked the config file. What have I missed? The machine is partitioned...so there is a win2k partition....not sure that woudl matter though. Again, thanx in advance for your help! |
