installing epson perfection 660

I m using mandrake 9.1 and i 'm trying to (re)install my scanner.
it's a epson perfection 660.
At first it did work with kooka without configuring anything but after installing some updates i can't get my scanner working again.
I know it should work with the agfa snapscan driver but i don't know how to configure it.
My scanner is recognized and it should be "/dev/usb/scanner0"
when i open xsane xscanimage or an other scan program i get

device `snapscan:/dev/usb/scanner0' is a EPSON EPSON Scanner flatbed scanner

can anybody help me co configure this scanner

THX

I knkow what the problem is, the firmware is not uploaded to the scanner (i did put it in the wright directory), when i boot in windows and then reboot in linux the scanner works , as long as the power to the scanner isn't disconected the firmware stays on the scanner but when i unplug it it resets.
where do is have to change the configuration files to make linux reload it.

i found a solution.
normally the firmware should be loaded automatically but for some reason it does not work automatically.
I did found a way to load the firmware yourself with the AGFAFIRM or ACERFIRM script
and i have this automatically done when KDE starts

I have the same problem with the epson 660 and Suse 9.2.

I have a question about the firmware and agfa scripts
- Where can I find the agfa scripts en how to run it?
- In what configfile do I have to add the firmware path?
