Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Installing CD-Burner

Hello,
I have recently installed Linux Red Hat 7.3 in my computer. Everything went quite right, though I had to ask here some questions.
Now I have another question, I am trying to install my CD-burner and I am somewhat lost of what do I have to do to get it run.
I have found some info about the mkisofs command and the other one which copies ISOs to CDs.

The thing is that I can`t get my CD burner detected. Supposedly, I had to install some IDE-SCSI driver for my CD (which is not SCSI), modifing the modules.conf.

All my tries have ended in "Kernel Panics" in the boot.

Do you have a good resource about CD burning in Linux?

Thanks a lot.

have you looked at xcdroast.org? its a gui for burning cds and if it doesn't have it on site it should have links to good 'setup-a-cd-burner' type docs.
