installing awus1900 on kali
Dear friends
I've bought the ALFA awus1900 recently, and I'm in desperate need of your help
I have managed to install it
it shows up, I can change the mode to monitor, lookup networks and devices near me, but I can't inject packets and use deauth attack.
When I try deauthing it shows 0,0 acks
From what I've read, people say that the problem is the 5.10.0-kali9-amd64 kernel, which should be 5.9.0
I've looked it up and didn't find any way that I can downgrade it from 10 to 9
do you think this is causing the problem?
Does anyone have this device? Can you let me know if yours works?do you have any suggestions for me, please?
Or should I just change it with the ALFA AWUS036ACH
I have installed this device on different Kali versions (2020-2021)
tried installing it with the RTL8812AU and RTL8814AU, but there are different versions of them which I have used, which every one I found.
I used
sudo iw wlan0 set txpower fixed 3000
to change the power as well
but still can't deauth
can anyone help me with this issue please?
I'll be very grateful
thanks

Kali uses a custom kernel, to get an older version of Kali's custom kernel, use the appropriate older version of Kali.
Also, according to a previous thread you're running Kali in a VM, but you haven't provided any details here of what that host OS is and whether that OS can successfully see the hardware you're trying to use.
Finally, since this is a very Kali-focused question, you'll get better answers on Kali's support forums, if you pay attention to their How To Make A Valid Thread:

After a description of your problem you need to provide the necessary details so that people will be able to assist you.
By necessary details I refer to:
Kali version (KDE/GNOME, Arhitecture) ( "Latest Kali" IS NOT A VERSION )
Kali installation (VM, HDD, USB)
Basic output of commands (ifconfig, iwconfig, lspci, lsusb, dmesg, etc.)
An error message (if any)
Links to the same problem (if any)
Solutions tried and their result

Thanks for your response
I'm not using VMWare, that was only for a test, as the guidance from our friends didn't work on my main vm (virtual box) so I downloaded and tried it on VMWare, which also didn't work, so I installed a new Kali on virtual box.
Current Kali version: latest Kali version :P, Linux kali 5.10.0-kali9-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.46-4kali1 (2021-08-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux
I've tried everything to install the device, but I didn't get anywhere, the only thing that is left is for me to change, is the kernel version to 5.9.0
It'll be great if you can let me know if this is possible on Kali and how, please? I've asked the same question on Kali forum as you suggested, if they respond, and it worked, ill add it on here.
Thanks

https://github.com/UbuntuForums/wireless-info ? No:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/quest...t-windows-host
First (soft-skill): let's learn: good web-searching. What web-search (Google or DuckDuckGo etc) keywords are you using to research this? Please post them, in Quote (BB code) tags (see 'BB code' near bottom of this page). Then others can help you refine them.
The kali forums seem to rarely respond (at all) to poor-quality (&n00b) threads. Reddit has a /r/linux4noobs forum, where the poor est of questions seem tolerated and often get lots of replys, attempting to help.
