Installing and mounting an existing RAID
I am trying to get a mirror RAID I've set up on my Asus M4A785ST-V EVO motherboard mounted and working on my linux setup.
I am running Mint 13 Maya x64. I am wondering if this is going to be a driver problem.
The Asus website only provides Audio and Network drivers. From what I can tell in the manual the component responsible for providing RAID is an AMD SB710 southbridge chipset. I've tried searching around for linux drivers for this with no luck so far.
If mounting the RAID directly is not going to be possible would I be able to mount the individual drives into their own linux RAID without losing the data on there?
I've had a look at the drives with GParted out of interest and it appears it can see both mirrored drives there and there is another entry in /dev/mapper so I wonder if my system has already had a go at mounting the drives itself.
Thanks for any lep you can give!
