Installing a USB wireless internet card in Redhat

Hey all, Thank you for taking the time to help me out. I have been trying to install a wireless USB network adaptor in my Redhat 9.0 (kernal 2.4.20-19.9)). The adapter is a Linksys WUSB54G (2.4 Ghz). My first question is how to get my system to recognize a USB device. Next question is how to get this device running in the system. And my third question is, if this is not possible for whatever reason. What wireless network card is tried and true for linux.
Thank you all in advance,

Hi, I am not any expert but I also have a LinkSys USB adaptor. The model is WUSB11 v.2.8, it isn't 8.2.11G as yours but here I have some infomation which may help u out

I know someone which can use a 802.11B driver in 802.11G card, it is working but u just get 11Mbps (better than offline..)

Hopes these would be helpful
