installing a dvd rw

Hi

Can anyone help me? I currently have a CD-RW and a DVD rom. I have bought a DVD-RW but am not sure whether to replace the CD-RW with it or the DVD rom! which one to I take out?

Thanks
A

I would say to use the one that gives you the best speed for the most-used application. If you are doing a lot of CD burning, keep the one that burns CDs the fastest. If you do a lot of installing from CDs, keep the fastest reader. Bottom line is, it probably doesn't make much difference.

I would replace CD-RW. That way it will be possible to copy data from DVD to DVD without first copying to HD

Your DVD-RW probably also has the capability to do CD-RW's as well - most do. Otherwise, you'd need to use your DVD-RW to create an image of a DVD before copying rather than being able to do it on the fly by reading from DVD-ROM. I'd say take out the CD-RW unless your new drive doesn't support writing to CD's.
