Installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS for the first time on my laptop and the touchpad does not work
Hello,
I installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on my i7 Acer laptop last Friday. The touchpad does not allow me to scroll. It recognizes (albeit limited) clicking. It worked a couple of times on startup and then quickly stopped working. I have tried editing the GRUB file and including the i8402 command in various iterations that I found on the web. I am stumped. I tried several other flavors of Linux live so that I would not have to reinstall anything and the darn touchpad does not work on anything. I have an Elantech touchpad. The last time I checked, the system does recognize the touchpad. Would any of you have any suggestions. I really like the option of using Linux and I welcome any suggestions. After a horrible Windows experience I am looking for options. Thanks! |
