Good, it would have surprised me a bit if it would not be running in Ubuntu if it did in SuSe 9 with no tricks. The volume controls and stuff is sometimes quite a tricky business and it is easy to go unnecessarily deep into searching problems with drivers and stuff...I was way down to define my own custom mixers for SPDIF output whereas it was a similar matter of assigning a correct mixer and adjusting a correct volume slider
